Hello Thursday {Getting Back Into It}

Hello Thursday.

Goodbye Canaan Valley.  A beautiful wedding for Scott and Megan.  A beautiful Best Man's speech from my husband.  A beautiful new lodge nestled in WV.  Happy extended family.  Little boys' superhero and polkadot ties and an awesome emerald-green dress.

Goodbye what's in my rearview window.  Hello looking ahead at the sunshine and beauty on the road before me.

Hello sleeping in my own bed with my own pillow.  (I have such a Princess and the Pea complex.)

Hello getting back in the groove at school for Ethan and making a 100% on his states and capitals test.

Hello scheduling doctor appointments.  (Three for next Tuesday.)

Hello Imaginext figures and Happy Meal toys for Zane and Nash.

Hello deciding it's time to nix the diapers for Nash.  Pronto-like.

Hello questionning daycare/preschool/learning for Zane.

Hello soccer, soccer, and more soccer.

Hello picking out a 67th birthday gift for my mother.  I'm feeling Glassybaby call her name.

Hello heartache, knowing how much Heather/Alex/Raylan and Shannon miss each other.  Hello prayers for them that this all works out, and Shannon will be back home for good.

Hello trying to study.  Feeling hopeless about it.

Hello feeling bad at work for doing your job and feeling run over by coworkers you thought were friends.  Hello questioning friendships and trying not to take it all so personally.

Hello recipe for Mixed Berry Muffins.  (They look SO good.  And I didn't eat lunch.  Bummer.)

Hello new artwork from Natasha Wescoat.  I am really forcing myself not to just buy it.

Hello Studio8 yoga.  I will be back to you.  I have to.

Food For Thought {source Unknown}

Who do I want him to be? I want him to be confident in who he is and courageous in what he believes. I want him to be kind and considerate. I want him to be fearless. I want him to take calculated risks and be brave enough to go after what he wants in life.  I want him to be able to pick himself up and try again when he fails.

So, how do I teach him these things? I have to be these things. I have to show him how to be fearless and how to be brave enough to go after what I want and try again even if I don’t succeed the first time. I have to be the person I want him to grow up to be. Even when I’m tired or discouraged or just don’t want to care anymore because it’s too overwhelming. It means I have to purposefully plan and do in my life and not just let life happen to me. It means that in being a good role model for my children, I have to put forth the effort to live my best life in a way that’s true and authentic. In the end and throughout, we will all be better for it.
